Drought Emergency Regulation

Governor Brown directed the first ever statewide mandatory water reductions in Executive Order B-29-15. These actions will save water, increase enforcement to prevent wasteful water use, streamlines the state’s drought response and invest in new technologies that will make California more drought resilient. On May 5, 2015, the State Water Resources Control Board adopted an emergency conservation regulation in accordance with the Governor’s directive.
